SyncTradee respects your privacy and processes personal information in line with South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA). This policy explains what we collect, why, and your rights.
1. Information we collect
Account details you provide (name, email, password — stored only as a secure hash); your trading data (trades, journal entries, plan inputs) that you add or import read-only; and basic usage/device data needed to run the Service, including push-notification subscriptions if you enable them.
2. How we use it
To provide the Service — compute your Discipline Score and analytics, run your journal, plan and dashboard, send the notifications you opt into, and operate plans and rebates. We use aggregated, anonymised data (for example, broker spread benchmarks) to improve the product.
3. What we never do
We do not sell your personal information. We do not place trades. We do not share your individual trading data with brokers or third parties for their own marketing.
4. Sharing
We share data only with service providers that help us operate (e.g. hosting and database infrastructure), under appropriate safeguards; where you explicitly link a broker account for rebates; or where required by law.
5. Security
Passwords are hashed (never stored in plain text). Access to systems is restricted, and connections are encrypted in transit. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your data.
6. Retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and associated personal information at any time.
7. Your POPIA rights
You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal information, to object to certain processing, and to lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator. To exercise these rights, contact us.
